REMINDER:  Grade 11 Career Life Connections Students:

The Career Life Connections presentation for February 20th in the Gallery is cancelled. You must attend the session on the following alternate date based on your last name as follows:

Last Names starting with D-L must attend the session on February 27th during tutorial time in the Gallery

Last Names starting with M-S must attend the session on March 6th during tutorial time in the Gallery

Last Names starting with T-Z must attend the session on March 13th during tutorial time in the Gallery

Youth Citizenship Award– Are you a GREAT citizen in your community? If you are 19 years old or younger you can apply for this $100 Bursary. Pick up an application form in Student Services. Deadline for this bursary is March 1st. See Mr.Scaligine if you have any questions.

INTERNATIONAL

FEB MEETING in the Gallery – The lunch meeting for grades 11 and 12 students has been re-scheduled for THURSDAY, February 28th. The lunch meeting for grades 9, 10, 11 students is on Wednesday, February 27th.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Starbucks: G10-12 students interested in Starbucks work experience please see Mr Montgomery. You do not miss school for this placement.

Burnaby Village Museum: 2nd week of Spring Break is available to a pair of students. See Mr Montgomery to apply.

We need volunteers for Shoppers Drug Mart in the Plaza and Science World. You won’t miss school! See Mr. Carey.

SPRING BREAK   We have two volunteer opportunities for Spring Break at Hunter Dickinson Inc. (a mining firm).

  • Reception, resource and database, and risk management
  • Tax Accounting

SPORTS

Badminton Tryouts

Hey North, do you play badminton? If yes, you should come tryout for the badminton team! Grade 8,9,10 tryouts are on Thursday February 21st and Grade 11, 12 tryouts are on Wednesday February 20th. Both in the South gym after-school. Join the badminton team for a meaningful and fun experience!

Spring Athletic Clothing   Attention all Vikings! This is the last chance to order your Spring Athletics Team Gear and Spirit Wear. To order, go to www.bnsathletics.ca and click on “Merchandise”. Sample sizes are available in the sports centre. The sale will be open online until March 3rd.
