Personal Pizzas will be available for $5 and Personal Pizzas with a pop for $6!  The special will only be available during North Lunch Hour  11:35 – 12:14 pm!  Hope to see you there!

THE INDIGENOUS EDUCATION SUPPORT TEAM will be hosting an information session for all Indigenous students on Wednesday, September 19th at 11:00 am in room #5.                      Ms. Lyons

INTERNATIONAL

MONTHLY MEETING for Grades 8, 9, 10s  –  is TODAY,  Wednesday, September 19th at lunch time in the GALLERY.

IELTS prep course – is being offered by the district office. It is designed for students 16 years and up who wish to study at post-secondary schools in Canada. Sessions are on WEDNESDAYS at 4:15-7:15pm from October 10 – December 5th. The cost is $200 and space is limited to 20 students. The deadline is September 28th for payment and registration.Please see Ms. Teng-Davis in room 309 or Mr. Archibald in room 116A for info and forms.

SAT PREP COURSE – If you are interested in attending a post-secondary institution in the US, the international office is offering a 9 session course on Thursdays, 4:00pm – 7:30pm from October 11 – December 16th at Burnaby South Secondary. The cost is $200 and the deadline to register is September 28th. Space is limited to 20 students. Please see Ms. Teng-Davis in room 309 or Mr. Archibald in room 116A for info and forms.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN TRIP – Sign up for this popular tour offered on two dates: October 26-29 and November 2-5. The cost is $500 and includes 4 days and 3 nights traveling from BC to Alberta. The deadline to book is September 25th. Please see Ms. Teng-Davis in room 309 or Mr. Archibald in room 116A for info and forms.

CLUBS

Library Club: There will be a meeting for all RETURNING  Library Club members TODAY,  Wednesday, September 19th, at lunch in the library. If you were in the Library Club last year and want to join again this year, please attend this meeting. There will be a separate meeting for new Library Club members after Clubs Day in October.                                                                       Ms. Gladwin

CHRISTMAS CHEER:  This week’s Christmas Cheer meeting will be in Room 218 NOT the Gallery TODAY, Wednesday, Sept. 19th at lunch.  Most future meetings will take place in the Gallery, always Wednesdays at lunch.                                                                                                                                      Mr. Sokugawa

GENDER & SEXUALITY AWARENESS CLUB:  Everyone is welcome to GSA’s first meeting TODAY, September 19, 2018 in Room 22 at lunch.  Our meetings are a safe space to be yourself and snacks are available!  Ms. Smith

FINE ARTS COUNCIL:  Fine Art Council will be holding it’s meetings every Thursday at lunch in Room 310.  Be sure to drop by this Thursday, Sept. 20th as well!                                                         Ms. Macrae

DANCE CLUB:  Dance practice will be on Tuesday and Thursday afterschool in the dance studio.  Please come through and be ready to learn some choreography.                                      Mr. Byrne

DEBATE CLUB:  Have you ever thought about getting a good university?  Well, Debate can get you there!  Debate teaches public speaking skills that you can use in future interviews.  Come to Room 112 on Thursday, Sept. 20th afterschool.                                                                                Mr. Taylor

WORK EXPERIENCE

Burnaby Village Museum: If you have good spoken English and are comfortable chatting to members of the public then BVM’s Heritage Christmas may be for you. Sign up with a friend and work for five days during December. There are lots of dates to choose from.

SPORTS

INTRAMURALS:   Co-Ed Flag Football Intramurals will be starting at the beginning of October.     Pick up your roster forms and hand it in to Sportscenter.  The forms are due by Sept.20th.  All the games will be played at the North Turf.                                                                                                  Mr.Miljanic
