Mandatory Password Reset–Feb. 7, 2023

Password Reset & 90 Day Reset Cycle – Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Burnaby North

To improve our digital security, the district is implementing a mandatory password reset and a subsequent ongoing 90 day password reset. This includes all staff and student accounts. 

When BNS users log into the school network from a school device the morning of February 7, 2023 (or on their 1st login any time after that date) they will be required to change their password before proceeding.

NOTE:  Because O365 and district WiFi are accessed with your Network Login account, users may not have access to their Microsoft 365 services or SD41 WiFi until they reset their network password.  Users will need to edit the WiFi profile in their BYOD devices and update saved passwords.

Once users have changed their password, the new password will remain in effect for 90 days after which the user will be prompted for another reset.

Please note: the new password will be automatically synchronised with your Microsoft365 (m365) account.

Self-Service Password Reset Portal

Staff and students are asked to ensure they have registered their account with the Burnaby Self-Service Password Reset portal.

IT IS IMPORTANT that all users are familiar with and have set up their Burnaby Password Reset Portal before their assigned reset date. The reset portal will allow a user to reset their password at any time.
