ATTENTION AP SEMINAR STUDENTS FOR THE 2026/27 SCHOOL YEAR (including those on the Waiting List) – Please attend a mandatory meeting on Monday, June 8 at lunch in Room 3050. At this meeting, you will receive important information about the course, as well as your required Summer Assignment. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please email Mrs. Hardjowasito and come by during Tutorial, or before or after school to Room 3050 to receive the handouts and information. ACCESSIBILITY WEEK (JUNE 1-5thBrian McKeever is a Canadian Paralympic cross‑country skier and one of the most successful winter Paralympians of all time. He competed alongside a sighted guide after losing his vision due to Stargardt disease. McKeever won multiple gold medals across several Paralympic Games and made history by qualifying for the Canadian Olympic team in 2010, becoming the first Paralympian selected for both the Olympic and Paralympic Games. He is widely recognized for his perseverance, elite athletic achievement, and contributions to Canadian sport.

TUTORIAL EXPECTATIONS: This is a reminder that:

  • Grade 8s 9 & 10: Please go to one of your 8 classes.  If the teacher is not available, please go to another one of your classes.  If the class is full, please go to another one of your classrooms.
  • Grades 11 and 12: Please go to either one of your classes, the library, the commons or the 4thfloor lounge.  The pods are off-limit and the library, commons and 4th floor lounge are for QUIET  Especially the Library and 4th floor lounge as they are near classrooms. Please note that students or staff can also set a time to meet in tutorial.  If you need help, contact your teacher to make sure they are available.  If your teacher asks you to go to their classroom, please go!  Admin

VIKINGS VALHALLA NEXT WEEK (June 8th-June 11th)  Hey North! Get hyped for our year end Vikings Valhalla week!  From June 8th-11th, (next week) Student Government is hosting our annual Valhalla Spirit Week to celebrate the school year! Participate in games and earn points throughout the week for your grade. The winning grade will get free freezies at our school wide carnival! FAREWELL LUNCH MEETING FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS’ MANDATORY! Hey International Students! If you’re in Grade 12 or planning to leave Burnaby next year, you must join us for our super important Farewell Meeting during lunch in room 3047 this Friday, June 5, 2026! We’ll share all the essential info to finish the year strong — from report cards and transcripts to MSP and report legalization. Plus, enjoy a tasty lunch and get FREE bubble tea on us and pick up a special farewell gift! It’s a fun way to say goodbye and get everything sorted. GRAD DINNER/DANCE TABLE SIGN-UP – The Grad Dinner/Dance table sign up forms are now available outside of Room 3080.  Table sign-ups of 10 Grads per table (NO EXCEPTIONS).  Forms are to include name and student number of each person at your table!  Incomplete forms will NOT be processed! Forms are due back by tomorrow Wed. June 3rd at 3:03pm.  Any students who are NOT signed up to a table will be randomly placed. Mr. Sokugawa/Grad Council 2026

BN DINNER AND DANCE 2026: This is a formal event where grade 12 students will have dinner and a dance at a downtown hotel and sometimes called a “prom.” Students will be admitted into the Dinner and Dance from 6:00 pm – 6:30 pm (no late entries). Students are welcome to take pictures with family and friends before 6:00 pm at the Westin Bayshore. Please note that this is a student-only event. No family or nonBurnaby North Grad 2026 friends are permitted into the event.

  • WHEN:  Friday, June 12th from 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm (please arrange for your child to be picked up at the end of the Dinner Dance if they are not attending the Dry Grad)
  • WHERE:  The Westin Bayshore, 1601 Bayshore Drive, Vancouver
  • COST:  $140  Please pay through School Cash Online. A ticket is required to attend.
  • DEADLINE: PAST DUE (May 22, 2026)

DRY GRAD: Dry Grad is an optional event to celebrate! Buses are arranged to pick the grads up at the Westin Hotel immediately after the Dinner/Dance. But the grad must be registered and have signed the Acknowledgement & Waiver. Grads will arrive at the Scotia Barn at approximately 11:00 pm, and sign-in at the desk. No alcohol, drugs, smoking and/or vaping is permitted. Grads will be checked for such items. The event includes variety of activities, and some grads may wish to change their clothes. They can do this either at the Westin or Scotia Barn. Activities include a Casino, Game Deck, DJ selection of music, Food, Ice Skating and Soccer. Also there are inflatables such as the Eliminator and Hamster Race. Or they may wish a quiet place to just enjoy!

WHEN: June 12th, 11:00 pm to 3:30 am the next morning.

Gr. 12s-GOCARD (STUDENT ID): You will need your GOCARD for all upcoming Grad activities.  Please come to the office to pick it up if you have not. The cost of a replacement GOCARD is $5.00 and it takes a week to receive it.
