Updated Dec. 10, 2023
The Burnaby North Secondary School campus is the location for the North Burnaby Adult Education Centre (NBAEC).
NOVEMBER 2023: We have moved! Please visit us only in our new location. While the address is the same, the building is the large (orange) building behind our old location.
***Google Map instructions are incorrect***
Drivers should access the new location from Curtis Avenue, the driveway next to the Ice Rink. Walkers have access from the new driveway (beween the yellow fences) off of Kensignton.
There is no access to the new building from the old building or its parking lots.
How to Find the NBAEC on Campus (in the new location)
The NBAEC is in the new building for Burnaby North Secondary School (see map above)
There is no entrance to NBAEC from within the secondary school or from the parking lots for the old buildings.
- WALKERS ONLY: Enter from Kensington Avenue via the driveway across from Dunedin Street (between the yellow fences). Walk up the new sidewalk next to the pond follow it to the right. The NBAEC entrance is under the large orange section on the building past the playground.
- WALKERS MAY ALSO ENTER VIA THE CAR ENTRANCE
- CARS: Enter the parking lot from Curtis Avenue only. The driveway is behind the Ice Rink. To enter the building, walk up the pathway next to the playground and continue past the second fenced area. The main entrance to NBAEC will be on your left.

If you are coming long distances or if weather suddenly changes, remember that bikes are also permitted on all buses in Burnaby (space permitting). For details see Translink’s “Bikes on Transit” page.
NOTE: The NBAEC does not currently have a bicycle rack.

BNS is on or close to several major bus routes including the R5, 134, 160. If you are taking Skytrain, it is easiest to reach campus by bus from the Lake City Station or Brentwood Station (both end points of the 134 route) or by walking from Holdom station (all uphill).
By bus, any route that travels down Hastings Street to Kensington Avenue will drop you within blocks of campus.
You can view a pdf of local bus routes from Translink or use the Trip Planner to find your best/fastest route.
Drivers:
NBAEC students may use the new South Parking Lot (enter from Curtis Street). Street parking is also available on Curtis Street or on the east side of Kensington Avenue.
Staff and students with parking privileges can use their assigned parking lots. There is NO STUDENT DROP-OFF/PICK-UP permitted in any parking lots.
