Advanced Placement at Burnaby North
Advanced Placement is a program of college level courses and examinations for secondary students administered by the College Board, headquartered in New York (www.collegeboard.com/ap).
Students who have successfully completed examinations with a minimum score of 4 on a 5-point scale (some institutions only require a score of 3) may, upon admission to university/college, be granted credit and/or placement at most post-secondary institutions in Canada and around the world. For information about credits offered at various institutions in British Columbia visit https://www.bctransferguide.ca/learn-more-about/advanced-placement/. For information about credits offered at institutions worldwide visit https://international.collegeboard.org/resources-for-educators/ap-in-canada. Please refer to our Benefits of AP page for further information about this dynamic program.
Many Excel (Honours and Enriched) courses may offer advanced and motivated students the opportunity to learn in an enriched environment with similar students.
Please refer to Grade 8-12 Excel Information or Advance Placement Course Description pages for more information or contact Ms. Mihic in Student Services or by email.
Please note that Burnaby North Secondary only offers AP exams to students enrolled at Burnaby North. If you are interested in becoming a Burnaby North student, please inquire at our front office.
