Image by Andy Everson. November 8 is Indigenous Veterans’ Day. Over 8,000 First Nations soldiers volunteered for service in the two World Wars. Thousands of Métis, Inuit, and non-status Indians enlisted as well, without official recognition of their Indigenous identity. Today, we honour the contributions and sacrifices of Indigenous Peoples in service to Canada.
School will be closed Monday November 13, 2023 in observance of the Remembrance Day events on Nov. 11. As a result, Friday November 11, 2023 will have an adjusted schedule. It will be a 4-block day WITHOUT FLEX and an early dismissal (as this is the day after Student Growth Conferences). First class (block 5) begins at 8:40.
